First impressions: Lush Brazed Honey Face Mask.

For anyone who has been living under a rock or unfortunately don’t have a Lush store close to them; Lush is a company that sells fresh handmade cosmetics. All of their products are cruelty free, vegetarian and have been ethically produced.

Lush’s face masks are known to be amazing but are mostly suited to anyone with normal or oily skin. I found that their Brazed Honey mask was reviewed by mostly people with dry skin like me and they seemed to love it so I ordered one online and it came a few days later. The product came in one of those cute Lush tubs that I adore. I like tubs, tubs are good.

The main ingredients in the mask are fresh ginger root, fresh organic lime juice and fresh fennel. It is said to wake up the skin by cleansing, soothing and moisturising. When applying it to my face I noticed that it did have quite a strong ayurvedic smell which I know some people don’t like but I did. The mask came straight out of the fridge so felt very cooling and had larger bits of ingredient visible which is what I presume exfoliated my face.

I washed the mask off when it had dried and started cracking with warm water and a sponge.

It is definitely exfoliating. When I dried my face off I immediately felt a difference in my skin, it was SO much softer than before! I generally don’t have great skin and have quite a few blemishes at the moment and the mask seemed to somehow ‘blur’ them. It was moisturising but not extremely, which is the only downside I have for this product.

Tips:

  • Store in the fridge, it stays fresh longer.
  • Note that this is a vegetarian product, not vegan. It does contain egg.
  • If starting to get thick towards the end of the pot, add a little water and mix.
  • When taking the mask off rub it instead of just washing it off, it gives you some extra exfoliation!

Overall I will buy this product again and would definitely recommend this to people with dry skin, not so much oily. I’m giving it an 8/10!

That’s it for this post. I hope you liked it and if anyone has any questions, suggestions or criticisms then feel free to leave a comment below!
